Last year Class 8A were chosen to become Pen Pals with a school in Germany. The school is in the district of Markischer Kreis, which Wrexham County has been twinned with for 40 years this year!
The school is called Grundschule Lichte Kammen and is in Iserlohn, Markischer Kreis, Germany. The school is a lot like our school, but the children only attend when they are 6. Before that they attend Kindergarten.
The class of children in Germany have sent our children a letter each containing some photos of themselves. In return we have sent them letters telling them all about ourselves, a bit about our families and what they like to do. We sent photos too. Below is a group photo of our children holding their Pen Pal letters:

We are creating a CD with two simple songs to send out to the children in Germany:
One, Two, Three, Four Five, Once I Caught A Fish Alive
and a Welsh song
Deryn Melyn.
Check back soon to see what our Pen Pals thought of the songs and to see if they have sent us any German songs to learn!
As members of eTwinning and eLanguages we are also hoping to form links with schools around the world. We have placed some project ideas on eLanguages and are waiting for schools abroad join our projects.
