Safeguarding

At Hafod-y-Wern CP School, safeguarding and child protection is a crucial part of our duty. On this page you will find useful information about safeguarding procedures at school. As you browse this page you may also find useful links to gain a further understanding of safeguarding at school, key contacts for Designated Safeguarding personnel and links for external support for concerns you may have.

In school all staff have relevant safeguarding training for their individual roles and understand who can support children and families if concerns are raised.

Should you wish to speak directly to a Designated Safeguard Person, the relevant team below are your 'go to people' and will assist.

If a child is in immediate danger or harm you should call 999 and ask for the relevant emergency services.

Do you have concerns about a child or children?

Tell us as soon as possible if you’re concerned that a child is at risk of being harmed or neglected. You can do this by contacting school or the Wrexham Council Safeguarding team by emailing SPOAchildren@wrexham.gov.uk or calling the Children’s Single Point of Access (SPoA) on 01978 292039 during normal office hours.

Our Emergency Duty Team can be contacted by emailing Emergency.Hours@wrexham.gov.uk or on 0345 053 3116 during out of hours (before 8:30am and after 5pm Monday - Thursday, and before 8:30am and after 4:30pm on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and bank holidays).
