Spring Term 2020

Happy New Year! We have lots of exciting things planned for this term and can't wait to get started! To begin this term, our topic will be 'People who Help us', including work on our school motto - 'Dream, Believe, Achieve'. We are encouraging children to think about what they might like to achieve in the future and will be inviting several visitors with different jobs to come and talk to the children.

We will also be learning all about Chinese New Year. Children will be exploring the different customs associated with the festival, reading and retelling the Chinese New year story, making some traditional crafts and tasting some delicious Chinese food!

During Eco week we will be looking at ways to care for both our school environment and the wider world. We will be learning all about recycling through fun activities in class.

Autumn Term 2019

All the children are settling into school brilliantly and are having lots of fun exploring the classroom and making new friends. Our topic for this term is 'Food'. This is a really exciting topic which will involve the children growing, cooking and tasting many different kinds of foods as well as finding out about where our food comes from.

We will be visiting the local 'Hub' cafe at the Caia Park Partnership to have a look around and sample some of the food as well as holding our own teddy bears picnic in school.

Summer Term

Our topic for the summer term is 'Y Fferm' (The Farm).

We are looking forward to learning about lots of different farm animals as well as finding out how our food is produced.

Our trip this term will be to The Outlook Meadow where we will be focusing on the the story of The Three Little Pigs - meeting some real-life pigs and taking part in lots of other exciting activities.

Our class assembly will take place on Thursday 23rd May at 9.15am

Spring term Update

This term's topic 'Dwr' has been a big hit with all the children! We began our topic with the story of the Rainbow Fish and found out how he learnt to share.  We made our own Rainbow Fish and explored different types of creatures that live in the sea.

We enjoyed the story Noah's Ark and made our own promises which we will try very hard to keep! Finally, our work on pirates has been very popular with the whole class. We have had great fun dressing like pirates, learning pirate songs and reading pirate stories such as Pirates Love Underpants!

Settling in

All the children have settled brilliantly into school and are having lots of fun exploring our indoor and outdoor areas.

Our topic for the Autumn term is 'All About Me'. We will be talking about our friends and families and the different homes that people may live in. We will also be learning  how we can take care of our bodies, as well as exploring lots of exciting activities linked with our senses.

Take a look at what we have been up to in our first week of school!

Our visit to St Mark's Church was very interesting. We found out about what happens in a church and what the different parts of a church are used for. Captain Chris thought our salt dough harvest decorations were fantastic and he used them to decorate the church.
We have been learning and sharing important information about ourselves such as how old we are, when our birthdays are and what we like and dislike. We read the story Kipper's Birthday and had great fun making cakes to celebrate his birthday!
