I hope everyone had a lovely relaxing Easter.

 

We will be uploading a weekly home learning sheet onto the website and Seesaw, along with daily challenges on Seesaw.  Children can complete the work in their home learning pack or on their Seesaw account.  It would be great to see more of you working on Seesaw then we can offer feedback.

Keep learning and stay safe

Home learning packs are avaliable to collect by Friday 20th March 2020.

 

This includes a seesaw home learning code. To access seesaw please follow the instructions below:

 

Students and families, we will be using Seesaw for home learning. Please sign in with your Home Learning code following the steps below:

 1. Go to https://web.seesaw.me on a computer. Or install the Seesaw Class iOS or Android app.

2. Tap “I’m a Student”.

3. Scan or type in your Home Learning code.

4. Post to your journal, respond to activities, and view class announcements.

5. Remember, this code is like a password. Keep it safe!

Your child can upload the work that they complete at home for your teacher to see and comment.

Welcome to the blog page for class 3. Information and photographs will be added here as the year progresses.

Listed below is some important information about class 3  -

  • Mrs Edwards is the class teacher.
  • Mrs Doughty is the teaching assistant.
  • Class 3 P.E. days are Wednesday and Thursday.
  • Class 3 outdoor classroom day is Wednesday - outdoor clothes and change of footwear are needed.
  • Homework goes home on  Monday and should be returned on Thursday.

Further Information

PE

Class 3 have P.E on a Wednesday and Thursday. Please ensure your child has the following kit, fully labelled in a bag on their PE day, or left in school:

· White T-shirt

· Black or navy shorts

· Pumps or trainers

Homework

Each Monday your child will receive a list of spellings and a piece of Maths / English / topic work that supports the work in class will also be sent home each week. This homework needs to be returned by Thursday that week. Please help your child by practising their spellings as they are tested on them on a Friday.

 

Reading Books

Reading books are sent home on a Monday with homework and need to be returned on a Thursday. Please can you listen to your child read as often as possible, for about 10 minutes 2 to 3 times a week and write a comment in their reading record. Due to limited books we cannot send home a new book unless the previous one is returned.

 

Snack

Children receive a healthy snack and drink of milk everyday in class.  The cost is £1 a week payable to your child's class teacher.  This half term is 8 weeks if you would like to pay in advance.  Letters are sent home for missing snack every 3 weeks.

The School Day

 

  • The class doors open at 8.45 am each morning.
  • Children will be completing spelling activities before the register to reinforce their daily phonics work and homework.
  • We aim to be spending more time in the outdoors this year so the gates to the yard will be locked promptly on the close of the register.
  • Please help us by ensuring your child is in school promptly for the register in the mornings.
  • The school day ends at 3 p.m. and children are dismissed from the classroom door.

This term we are changing our planning to include children’s opinions and ideas.  We will be basing our work on current events and celebrations.  We are starting the term with our school vision, motto and rules.  During the term we will be welcoming visitors to discuss their careers and we will be visiting a community facility.

Getting ready for the RSPB bird watch

We are taking part in the RSPB School Birdwatch. We have been learning to identify and name birds. We put bird food in the outdoor area to encourage the birds to visit. Later in the month, we will complete our official Birdwatch and send our figures to the RSPB.

Spring Term Newsletter

Our topic for this term is birds

We will be identifying birds and taking part in the RSPB Big School Bird Watch. We will find out how to take care of birds as pets, making bird feeders, creating a bird hide and making Bird fact cards. We will also be sharing the texts ‘Owl Babies’, ‘The owl and the pussy cat’ and ‘The owl who was afraid of the dark’ in our classes. Through RE we will be studying the Christian faith.

 

We will be organising a trip for later in the term, please keep a look out for dates and letters.
