Croeso dosbarth wyth!
Welcome to Class 8
Welcome back to the start of a new academic year. It has been lovely to see all the children settling in nicely to their new classes and they are all looking so smart! Throughout the year, we will be looking at our new curriculum, focussing on our school vision, the four purposes within the new curriculum, and exploring the six areas of learning and experiences including: Health and Wellbeing, Languages, Literacy and Communication, Mathematics and Numeracy, Science and Technology, Expressive Arts and Humanities.
Our main topic for the Autumn Term will be ‘Settlers and Invaders.’
During this topic, we will be looking at different aspects of Celtic life including
culture, homes, daily lives, food and battles. We will also be exploring
Celtic patterns and how Celtic warriors prepared for battle.
In Science and Technology we will be looking at materials and looking at how
different types of materials are used and what they are good for. We will be
investigating what kind of materials would have been used in Celtic times for things such as building roundhouses and making their weapons.
