The School Day
Diolch yn fawr.
Topics this term…
This term we are changing our planning to include children’s opinions and ideas. We will be basing our work on current events and celebrations. We are starting the term with our school vision, motto and rules. During the term we will be welcoming visitors to discuss their careers and we will be visiting a community facility.
Our outdoor day is on a Friday.
Children can come to school dressed in appropriate outdoor clothing that you don't mind getting dirty on this day. We also ask that children come with a coat and a change of shoes, wellingtons or trainers. The extra shoes need to be in a named carrier bag.
Class 4 have P.E on a Monday and Thursday. Please ensure your child has the following kit, fully labelled in a bag on their PE day, or left in school:
· White T-shirt
· Black or navy shorts
· Pumps or trainers
Each Monday your child will receive a list of spellings and a piece of Maths / English / topic work that supports the work in class will also be sent home each week. This homework needs to be returned by Thursday that week. Please help your child in practising their spellings as they are tested on them on a Friday.
Reading books are sent home on a Monday with homework and need to be returned on a Thursday. Please can you listen to your child read as often as possible, for about 10 minutes 2 to 3 times a week and write a comment in their reading record. Due to limited books we cannot send home a new book unless the previous one is returned.
Children receive a healthy snack and drink of milk everyday in class. The cost is £1 a week payable to your child's class teacher. This half term is 8 weeks if you would like to pay in advance. Letters are sent home for missing snack every 3 weeks.
